One of the most challenging and rewarding aspects of today’s business environment is the ongoing and rapidly accelerating impact of technology. This has always been the case throughout history and it will continue. For those of us in the world of event production these changes have had the greatest impact on how we create, produce and present content. Analog to digital has had the greatest impact over the past several years. But now as the digital conversion phase has almost reached its zenith the next challenge awaits.

The manner in which we communicate and interact with each other is changing dramatically and getting more complex. It is having tremendous impact on how information is disseminated and collected. We all see it everyday. Email and social media are now taken for granted in most companies and we communicate with our children via texting and Skype.

This is the world in which we live, so we have to keep up or get left behind very quickly. But it is also very easy to go from the “leading edge” of technology to the “bleeding edge.” In an effort to maintain the right balance we spend a lot of time investigating and testing new technologies that might improve the products and services we provide our clients.

One of the most recent items to come to our attention is the Microsoft Tag . It is a very interesting application that leverages the current growth in smart phones and improved bandwidth. Not sure how it will fit in with our production business, but when we are we will be sure to let you know.
